Visa plan for 'risky' visitors

I read this article from BBC News website just now and I am quite unpleasant to know that Malaysian will need visas to visit the U.K even for short stay in early 2009. As we know, now Malaysian can enter Britain without visas for maximum of 6 months of duration stay but recently, because of a Home Office report identifies fake passports, criminal acts and terrorism as possible risks posed by visitors so that U.K government might be started the new visa requirements become law by early 2009.

There is only one way to avoid this enforcement law or 'no need' to introduce a visa regime which is Malaysia has to show an evidence that all those criminals are not as worse as been reported. Nowadays, many foreigners are able to purchase fake Malaysian passport easily to enter the UK. I reckon it is alright for the UK to take precaution in case this holding fake Malaysian passport or genuine Malaysian is a terrorist. Malaysian should blame the government for not curbing the Malaysian passport scams effectively and thoroughly.

Besides that, when we dealt with Malaysia Embassy during Belgium visa application in London , there was one incident happened that lead us to file a complaint about inefficiency services and incompetence people that worked in the Embassy. Apparently, our complaint was answered nicely by one of the person in consular division. He told us that all of inefficiency services aren't because they haven't done their jobs properly but the main reason is because they have to deal with more important matters such as illegal imigrants, criminal charges , court cases that had been done by Malaysian. He said that almost 50 percent of Malaysian involved in this criminals. Well, as a Malaysian proverb said 'Because of a drop of blue dye, a whole pot of milk is contaminated' that means, just because of a person's fault, the whole community/group related to the person gets a bad reputation.

The ministers and authorities inefficiency in solving passport scam have lead to UK's intention to impose VISA rules. Can the authority arrest the bloody person behind passport and mykad scam quickly to void UK VISA rules?... They can't?...Why? Well, if the new visa regime has become a new law I guess we as a Malaysian will think thrice if we want to visit the U.K..apa nak jadi pada negaraku ni oii...

Petikan dr BBC News

The government has warned 11 countries that their citizens will need visas to visit the UK unless they "significantly reduce" the risk they pose. Listed are Brazil, Namibia, South Africa, Malaysia, Venezuela, Bolivia, Botswana, Lesotho, Mauritius, Swaziland, and Trinidad and Tobago. A Home Office report identifies bogus passports, criminal acts and terrorism as possible risks posed by visitors. It says the new visa requirements could become law by early 2009. The new countries on the visa list have a combined population of more than 300 million - nearly 5% of the world's population. We need to decide how to widen the visa net. We cannot and will not shy away from going wider Liam Byrne, immigration minister If visas are imposed on them, 80% of the world's population will be subject to visa entry requirements in order to visit the UK. Because Britain is a member of the EU, citizens of European countries do not need visas to visit the UK. Border and Immigration Minister Liam Byrne said: "We need to decide how to widen the visa net. "We cannot and will not shy away from going wider and will, whenever we think there is a risk to the UK." 'Evidence of change' He said the government will now "work with" the countries over the next six months in an effort to reduce the risks. "If they are able to show evidence of change then there will be no need to introduce a visa regime," said Mr Byrne. The criteria for the Home Office's Visa Waiver Test included looking at passport security and integrity; the degree of co-operation over deportation or the removal of a country's nationals from the UK. Levels of illegal working in the UK and other immigration abuses, levels of crime and the risk of a visitor committing a terrorist act were also considered. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7499713.stm
