Maastricht., Holland

Without a proper planning, Am and I off to Maastricht this afternoon just for sightseeing hence the weather was so bright and lovely with the sunny spelled for the whole day. For additional info, Maastricht is situated on both sides of Meuse river in the south-eastern part of the Netherlands between Belgium and Germany. The city centre is located crossing the river if you come from Maastricht train station, so that if you want to go to the city centre i.e for shopping, you have to use pedistrian bridges that had been constructed since early 18th century, I guess!. I can't precisely remember how many bridges are there but I do remember that the view is pretty good indeed.

Clearly, this town is quite attractive because it looks like an old town and most of the people in the town tend to use bike or just take a walk to get all around the town itself, The cleanliness is thumb up for this city. We wandered in a leisurely way in the town, along the river and few attraction places that compulsory to visit when tourist visit this town.

The best thing is the town isn't so big so you can visit all over the places by walk and in fact we finished our sightseeing less than 3 hours. We ended our tripped by headed to souvenier shops to buy something to remind us about this place. Very good experienced for us to know and learn Dutch culture! Oh by the way, even dutch is official language for The Netherland but most people can speak good english so it is much easier to communicate for all tourist including us. Well, maybe after this, we will make a proper plan to visit the rest part of the Netherland and so that I can colour the Holland map after this..Give it a rest.. Nurul,!!

IKEA

We went to IKEA last 2 days in intention to just have a look around since SOLDES just about a week to end. I set in my mind that I didn't want to buy anything because I need to save some money for our holiday in this coming August.Unfortunately, I was ended up with bought two rugs, two small tables, Plants, Bed linen and duvet cover, cutlery and etc. Unlooked-for all of the shopping items cost us around 50 euro. Well, not so bad isn't? well, in Malaysia IKEA is labelled as a quite posh shopping place to spend out your money but otherwise in Europe, IKEA is a suit well for somebody that in a tight budget like us.Yep, since earlier when we moved to our current home we bought everything from IKEA, from the biggest type of item to the smallest one. All with IKEA brand. Do trust me that IKEA is the cheapest brand that we can afford to buy our household goods in here compare to another shops and brands.

Frankly, I think we have alreday spent almost 500 euro to IKEA Hognoul. I don't know what I am gonna do with all of our belongings when we wanna go back to Malaysia for good and I reckon maybe we just sell them to the second hand shop or otherwise just charity them to very needy people. So that we can practise charity begins at home behaviour. I think so ! sosmetimes this question is popping in my mind to shipping them to Malaysia? Well, after the deepest thinking the answer is 'no'. But why? Well, it's because the shipping prices can reach up the top limit of our budget that we can't afford. Unlike in the U.k, the shipping prices is affordable and in fact one container maybe cost you only 600 to 800 pounds. So better not to. Am I right?

A penny saved is a penny earned right? Thus, I do know that words but I can't practise those words when it comes to my personal shopping list. In fact I always buy something that needless. What a shame! I think when the SOLDES last I should list all my shopping spree in a month so that when I look back in the future,I can count and realize how much money that I 've been wasting during Mega sale..oh dear!

Friendship

Friendship is a term used to denote co-operative and supportive behavior between two or more beings. Talked about friendship, It started between us since the first day I stepped my foot in here. Even we met twice before at her home in Manchester when she arranged a christmast party in two years back but I've never ever thought that someday she will be one of my "ladies day out friend". Who is the one that I am expressing about right now? It is not a puzzle that need to be answered by everybody just read this entry thoroughly until the last dot.

Yes, she is Laurence my friend that I made an entry about her birthday before. Yesterday at 1 pm in the evening, she came to visit me for the last time before she flew out to Greece with her husband Greg at 4pm in the evening. They will off to Greece for one and half months. Quite long holiday indeed. Personally, nothing special about her in this entry instead off she came here to give me plenty of food that leftover in their fridge and gave me "Marie Clare" our favourite magazine..It is normal thing for her to hand out to me the magazine after she read it monthly.

Now, come to the point why I am writing about her in this entry, frankly from the bottom of my heart since yesterday onwards she made me feel our friendship is much appreciated between us. Want to know why? Well, she came here not simply to give the foods but to say good bye in a proper way to me.What I mean by proper way? Ahahaha,Here it goes..She gave me her hp number in Greece, Yeap just in case! We talked about an hour before I showed herself out and at that moment she asked me "Can I hug u, Nurul?" in a very sincere looked through her eyes..and I said.."Yes, of course u can..nothing whatsoever reason that hug is forbidden between us as a friend" That moment I felt something inside me,something that can't be interpreted and showed with words only body gestures talk itself.(perhaps I feel so into it because I have nobody in here just Am and I guess it much better if u have friends to talk to rather than not or otherwise you will be like "Billy no mate".),then she hugged me tightly and said that she will keep in touch during her holiday and she will come back with my favourite souvernier(oh by the way, everytime she went abroad she never ever forget to bring me souvenier)and she added that she is going to miss me.So can you see why I said this entry is worth to write even it is nothing so special about that?

Nevertheless, It doesn't mean that I am not appreciate and miss all my friends out there..I do miss you all very much and I am so sorry indeed if anything I made before that made the relationship broken, I trust that a broken friendship may be soldered but will never be sound again, yet I do trust that everything happened for a reason so just follow the nature..InsyaAllah there is a way..no way without will right? Lastly, I hope Laurence will have a safe and sound journey ahead and just come back quickly, and do keep in touch my friend!

so near yet so far!!!!!

I went to this shop yesterday to buy "that thing"..I tried on "that thing" then I put "that thing" back in place..I said to myself.."maybe there is another one that much better than "that thing" in another shops in term of prices and quality..so I went out from the shop still kept looking and finding from one shop to another but I still can't find "the thing" that I want..since the clock was ticking and almost 6pm and all the shops were started to shut the doors so I went home in hope that I will buy "that thing" that I found at the first shop yesterday..So, today at 12pm I went to that shop,Gulp!!!!that thing has sold out..I am so frustrated and regret because I wasn't bought it yesterday..how pathetic I am..only IF I bought it earlier...huhuhuhu..

Visa plan for 'risky' visitors

I read this article from BBC News website just now and I am quite unpleasant to know that Malaysian will need visas to visit the U.K even for short stay in early 2009. As we know, now Malaysian can enter Britain without visas for maximum of 6 months of duration stay but recently, because of a Home Office report identifies fake passports, criminal acts and terrorism as possible risks posed by visitors so that U.K government might be started the new visa requirements become law by early 2009.

There is only one way to avoid this enforcement law or 'no need' to introduce a visa regime which is Malaysia has to show an evidence that all those criminals are not as worse as been reported. Nowadays, many foreigners are able to purchase fake Malaysian passport easily to enter the UK. I reckon it is alright for the UK to take precaution in case this holding fake Malaysian passport or genuine Malaysian is a terrorist. Malaysian should blame the government for not curbing the Malaysian passport scams effectively and thoroughly.

Besides that, when we dealt with Malaysia Embassy during Belgium visa application in London , there was one incident happened that lead us to file a complaint about inefficiency services and incompetence people that worked in the Embassy. Apparently, our complaint was answered nicely by one of the person in consular division. He told us that all of inefficiency services aren't because they haven't done their jobs properly but the main reason is because they have to deal with more important matters such as illegal imigrants, criminal charges , court cases that had been done by Malaysian. He said that almost 50 percent of Malaysian involved in this criminals. Well, as a Malaysian proverb said 'Because of a drop of blue dye, a whole pot of milk is contaminated' that means, just because of a person's fault, the whole community/group related to the person gets a bad reputation.

The ministers and authorities inefficiency in solving passport scam have lead to UK's intention to impose VISA rules. Can the authority arrest the bloody person behind passport and mykad scam quickly to void UK VISA rules?... They can't?...Why? Well, if the new visa regime has become a new law I guess we as a Malaysian will think thrice if we want to visit the U.K..apa nak jadi pada negaraku ni oii...

Petikan dr BBC News

The government has warned 11 countries that their citizens will need visas to visit the UK unless they "significantly reduce" the risk they pose. Listed are Brazil, Namibia, South Africa, Malaysia, Venezuela, Bolivia, Botswana, Lesotho, Mauritius, Swaziland, and Trinidad and Tobago. A Home Office report identifies bogus passports, criminal acts and terrorism as possible risks posed by visitors. It says the new visa requirements could become law by early 2009. The new countries on the visa list have a combined population of more than 300 million - nearly 5% of the world's population. We need to decide how to widen the visa net. We cannot and will not shy away from going wider Liam Byrne, immigration minister If visas are imposed on them, 80% of the world's population will be subject to visa entry requirements in order to visit the UK. Because Britain is a member of the EU, citizens of European countries do not need visas to visit the UK. Border and Immigration Minister Liam Byrne said: "We need to decide how to widen the visa net. "We cannot and will not shy away from going wider and will, whenever we think there is a risk to the UK." 'Evidence of change' He said the government will now "work with" the countries over the next six months in an effort to reduce the risks. "If they are able to show evidence of change then there will be no need to introduce a visa regime," said Mr Byrne. The criteria for the Home Office's Visa Waiver Test included looking at passport security and integrity; the degree of co-operation over deportation or the removal of a country's nationals from the UK. Levels of illegal working in the UK and other immigration abuses, levels of crime and the risk of a visitor committing a terrorist act were also considered. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7499713.stm

Two Good news at once for me..

Last week on 5th July We off to the U.K for one important and massive purposed for Am and I. The trip that created mix feeling inside me..want to know why? Yes, the answer is because we went there as a tourist instead of resident and furthermore, this was the first time we stepped foot back in that places after leaving the U.K for almost 3 months. Frankly, I can't tell how exactly my feeling was., we felt thoroughly excited indeed. Our journey started with overnight at hotel in London for one night, so it much better for us to ensure we had proper rest before went to Manchester by bus in the next day. Second and 3rd night we stayed at IBIS hotel in Manchester town, because Am needs quite and cosy environment to do revision.Oh by the way, before I have forgotten, the main reason we went to the U.K was because AM had a viva with Manchester University on 7th July 2008 at 9 am..do not get it wrong..It wasn't PHD's Viva but it was MPHIL. Before moving to Belgium, he submitted MPHIL for all the 2 years worked in Manchester University, Yep it was such a waste if he got nothing from Manchester University after being there doing the research, studies and all sorts. Well, I guess that's why MPHIL is become something special for him instead of nothing before. [Nothing because never thought to do MPHIL instead of PHD at Manchester University..yela, mana tau tukar university so dpt mphil dr manchester and PHD insyaallah in progress here]..InsyaAllah..

I am so glad because the viva went very well and in fact with flying colours..hhehee..yep..he managed to pass the Mphil Viva with minor correction after 2 hours bathing with sweat in the cosy room, to defens his research from the shot of questions in every single details and aspects from the examiners. Alhamdulillah , they gave Am 4 weeks time to do the correction and submit the final thesis and if everything goes well, Insya Allah by december will be his graduation ceremony.

When we were there we did take photos and track back our memories lane before. I was pretty excited and flattered to do that things. The last night in Manchester, we stayed at Faz and Zulfa 's home..thanks for them for all the great hospitality, nice foods and great services. Thanks again in a million and the next time will be our treat when yous come to Belgium.

The second good news is my sister is safely gave birth on 5th july 2008 at 5 p,m malaysia time..this is her second kids..Congratulations to my sis for her new baby girl named irdina batrisyia..I've got these pics from my bro camera phone..the pics bit blur though..Apparently,I feel pretty sad and happy when the first time I saw her pics..sad because she is far away from me and by the time I go back to Malaysia she isn't baby anymore...terlepas nak tgk masa baby in reality ..happy because she's an apple to everyone eyes now.I reckon I miss my family now, and my heart beats pounder when we are apart, especially with the new comer in our family.Welcome to the new world Baby Irdina..alhamdulillah.

Well, I am happy for everthing.. I really am..thanks to Allah for everything.Alhamdulilah..
