Oahu , Hawaii-United States

We flew off from San Francisco International Airport, Hawaii on 21st April 2012 by United Airlines. It took 5 hours plus journey from there. When we arrived in Hawaii , the clock showed 9pm in the night. The time difference was 12 hours with Belgium.

From the airport, we took shuttle to go to the hotel at Moana surfin resort hotel in Waikiki Beach and for the return trip was 59 dollar for two adults.

The best thing when we were there was, the hotel itself besides the good weather and exotic location to visit. The hotel was 200 dollar pe night with the conference rate and it located right in the city center of Waikiki. We stayed in Hawaii for 8 days and we joined and enjoyed various types of activities when we were there.

If people asked me how's Hawaii, my answer is  ' it an expensive place to visit but I love it that much because of the surroundings and I still missed the place!'

San Francisco-California, United States

On 20th April 2012 we flew off to San Francisco before heading to Hawaii. The flight from Brussels to San Francisco took around 18 hours including transit in Philadelphia International Airport and I was glad because the journey was smooth sailing and Haris did not cranky at all. We passed by the immigration easily without hassle and thanked God I for the friendly customer services and people  in the states!

We stayed overnight at Holiday Inn Civic Center and the hotel was about USD 140 per night. Not bad I think considering it closed approximity to the Bart train station and the journey to the airport only 30 minutes by train. The fare for round trip was USD 16.20 per pax.

When we arrived at San Francisco it was around 11 pm at night so, straightaway we checked in the hotel to stretch our feet after being in the flight for a long journey and had a good night sleep . The following day, we left the hotel at 8.30 am and continued our day by sightseeeing in the city center.

Our first stopped was, plaza civic center and union plaza. These two places just a few meters away from our hotel . After taking some pictures we strolled down the road until we reached a station for a cable car. We bought a day passport by munni for USD 14 per pax. By using this passport we could ride any buses, trams, cable car etc unlimited and trust me, it was cheap if you travelled by the public transport frequently on the whole day.  Unfortunately we only rode a bus when we returned from fisherman wharf to the city center. We did not ride a cable car due to the buggy unfriendly design for the car. It was ok though because every trip we go, normally we just went by foot to explore the places :-)

We read a map and off to Fisherman wharf. We took pictures at pier 39, hard rock cafe is here! The pier 41m Hyde street pier, the China town and etc. If you asked me which one is better either Eueope or states for visiting, my answer would be, Europe, though for shopping and the friendly people I choose The states!

V.i.s.a

On February, 9th I called the Embassy of the United States in Brussels to make an appointment for  our (Haris and I)  tourist visas application. I did fill in the online form for the two of us beforehand, well pretty sure I had because it clearly stated in the web about the instructions of the visa application.  When I was on the phone, the officer (guy) who answered the called was briefing me about the documents etc even though all the infos are completed in their web and I really appreciated that and the fees for each visa was Eur 112. Generally, he said, I did not need to bring Haris during the application day, I just came solely to the office on the appointed date. Thus, on February, 15th I went off to Brussels alone and Am was taking care of Haris.

The application was straight forward for me(alhamdulilah), I had to arrive 10 minutes earlier and was in lined with the rest of the others applicants. We had to go through the security checked for our stuffs etc before entering the office. In a few minutes later, they called my number to submit my confirmation pages and the self addressed envelopes. There was a silly incident happened though. I was mistakenly sticking the registered post form on the envelops and basically, the envelopes were ruined but thank Allah, the officer at the counter, helped me out by giving me another envelopes and registered stamps which were costed Euro12 for the two envelopes freely. Initially, she wanted me to go to the nearby post office just to buy the envelopes and I had to redo the appointment, but after asking was there any other option for me instead of redo the appointment bla bla bla, and she came out with the idea that I mentioned above. Then, she scanned all the fingers print and I had to wait again for about 30 minutes before they calling for the interview at the next counter with another officer.

After waiting for awhile, my number popped out on the screen and off I went to the counter. The officer just asked the purposed of my visit, who was going to pay for the visit, my bank statements and basically that's all. He was so friendly and he said I was picking up the best destination ever for my first trip to the states. The interviewed lasted for less than 10 minutes and he said our visa (Haris and I) will be ready in the post in a week time.

I was blurred because the processed went very fast and easy, I thought they were going to ask all the documents that I had prepared in advanced, to be honest two copies of each documents were a lot and they did not bother to ask even one :-P.  After thanking him, I returned to Liege.

The time passed by, and after a week I checked my post box and I found a receipt to collect the visa at the designated post office. The receipt actually had arrived almost a week earlier, but I never checked the letter, pretty careless huh! I tracked online about the visa and I was amazed to know that, the Embassy granted me the visa on the same day when I went for the visa application and they courriered the visas in the following day, what a good service!

Frankly, I did not have problems at all during the application and I really appreciate for their fast and prompt action :-))))

InsyaAllah, we will fly out on 20th April and I hope everything is going very well.

Last day of our trip

On the third day in Salzburg, we decided to catch a train at 11am after considering the checked in time in the last hotel in Vienna. Our last night, we booked a hotel at Wien Praterstern. We chose this hotel after taking into account of the easiest way to go to the airport since we needed to check in as early as 8.40am. There was a nearby train station from the hotel. It took 30 minutes to arrive at the airport.

at salzburg train station before departing a train to Vienna

he will cover his face like this when people are staring at him

The best thing was, we had time to visit Wiener Reisenrad, as known as Vienna eye. This was one of the tourist attraction in Vienna. The panoramic view of the city could be viewed from this ferris wheels.

Wiener reisenrad

Apart from that, we went to visit the city center for the last time before bidding farewell to this big city. As early as 7 pm we returned to the hotel before dozzing off to the slumberland and woke up as early as 6 am to get ready before departing into the train and went off to the airport.

Rome Day 3 and day 4

Day three brought us to the Phanteon, the Republica, The vittorio Plaza, Catle st Angelo, the Vatican city and many more places. I think many of you know about the Vatican city. the city where pope belongs to.

From Vativan City we off to the Castle St. Angelo and Plaza Cavour. Took photos and had a small lunch to fill in our rumbling stomaches. We kept our feet moving and crossing the lovely bridge just before the castle. The bridge is called Ponte St. Angelo. After taking a walk for hours we decided to take a look for the halal restaurant at the city centre. Finally, we found one. They sell beriyani rice, pizza and everything. It was so heaven to eat rice after had a pasta n pizza for our meals. The restaurant foods did not cost so much money. For lunch and diner we normally spent Euro 13 to Euro 18 for 2 people...

Day four, we decided to enter the colosseum. We bought the tickets after lining up for 30 minutes. We were lucky because during weekdays and in spring season there was not so many people compared to the weekend. The architecture inside the colosseum was amazing..Just imagine they built that before the Prophet Isa. How long the time went by but the structures, still remain. Truthfully, this is one of the human civilization that must be visited. From the colosseum we went to Palatino garden. The ticket was the same ticket as the colosseum. The garden was amazing and lovely. With the remain oldest structures and many more. Time flies so fast until we realized we had already spent 6 hours for these 2 places. Ok la tak mau cite panjang kesimpulannya Rome best gilerrrrr..and the best thing was,Am bought me 1 calf skin handbag, Italy made. I loveeeeeee it so much..tq dear!

Rome, Italy day 1 and 2

Day 1

After coming back from Rome, I really need some time to get in piece. I was so tired with the trip. We jet off on 14th March 2008 at 6.30pm and arrived in Rome at 8.30 pm. We bought the Terravission bus tickets to get to the city centre, Termini Station. The tickets only costed us Euro 14/person for the return tickets. You can buy it at the airport or on board. If you want a better deal, do buy it online and you can save Euro two for each of the return ticket.

The journey from airport to the city centre took 30 minutes. After arriving in the city, we started looking for our hotel. It just nearby the Termini Station and it was not so bad, only Euro 46 per night including breakfast for 2. Actually the price is vary depends on the season. During summer it would be double from the standard price, and all the hotel mostly quite expensive in summer compare to the other seasons.

Just after finding the hotel, we took bath , diner and rest our feet for tomorrow trip...zzzzzzz..

Day two

In the early morning, off we went to the most important and attractive places in Rome, the Colosseum. Before that we thought either to take sightseeing bus that costed around Euro 23 per day per person or go for the normal public transports. When we took into account of everything, we decided against our initial planned of buying sightseeing bus pass. We chose metrobus instead. The pass allowed us to unlimited travel with any buses and metro in Rome. It was so cheap. Only Euro four per day or Euro 11 for three days and Euro 16 for a week. You can make your choice which passes you want to go to suit your condition and budget.

Back to the Colosseum story, The metro station for Colosseum is, colosseo. It only two stations apart from our hotel, Termini Station. One thing for sure was, Rome was the most crowded tourist places that I have been so far. Compared to Prague, Paris, London and etc..Rome won the category of the-most-crowded-with the tourists. Not to forget it quite expensive city to visit too..Expensive but really worth it!

I do not know but I love Rome very much, if we have some budget we will jet off to Italy again to visit Venice, Milan and Florence. insyaAllahhhhh..

At the Colosseum we just wandering around outside since too many people were in Q to buy the Colosseum tickets, You can beat the Q if you take tour that costed around Euro 20 to Euro 23 per person. If you are in a tight budget, just get yourselves in the Q and pay only Euro nine per person for the admission fee of the Colosseum, Palatino Garden and Roman Bath. Well, the first and second day was nice and we decided to enter the Colosseum a day before we off back to Belgium. The most important info is, when you go to the Colosseum, beware of the cone men. They are everywhere especially the people who wears the gladiator costume. Check the price first before agree to take photo with them. They would charge you up to Euro 20 for just a few bloody worst pictures. And do not forget, if you want to buy the souvenirs do not buy with the lorries men.It much expensive compared to the souvenirs shops.

From the Coloseum we off to Trevi fountain, Monument Emanuel 2, and many more places. The must been visited places if you go to Rome.

For the currency- In Italy the currency is in Euro..1 euro equal to Ringgit Malaysia 4.9...or 1 euro equal to 0.91 pence.

Our Day 1 and 2 pics..just a few..lain2 tgk kat fb k..

Trevi fountain, the mitos is, if you throw coin into the water, you will return to Rome later..rubbish kan?
The colosseum area
The Spanish Steps...must visit place.
The Colosseum during day
The Colosseum during nite..

soldes is everywhere..and holiday trip...

Since the last two weeks the soldes has started in Liege. It will last for the whole month. Soldes is the word from French language. That mean price reduction sale. The best thing about soldes is, you have a plenty of time to buy things and you can wait up to the last week of the sale to get the real cutting prices items. I normally buy my wanted items in the week three or four of the soldes time to get the real bargain. I do not want to spend a fortune just to buy the branded items for ourselves. Perhaps because we live based on allowances..so better to spend economically, plus our tiny little one is on the way. The best bargain of all is, when I can buy them less than ten euro..or maybe less....see, that is why I love soldes so much. But bear in mind, if you wait until last minute it quite hard to find something in your size. Especially if you are in size ten to 12...but still, nothing to loose k..all the items are cheap to bits!

Forget about the sale. Let's talk about holiday. I have already booked a return tickets and accommodation for our next holiday. This time we will off to the Gladiator city. hehehhe. Our initial plan was, going on holiday in April. But due to the travel cost prices are more expensive in April, so we chose March instead for the holiday. I do not mind at all....as long as we are going on holiday. Anytime will do for me..Really do indeed! The trip will be five days and four night. It more than enough. I guess so. Rome, Italy..here we come...

Short holiday break!

We just booked the hotel to visit the smallest country in Europe, Luxembourg on 23rd December 2008. Ok la..because of the money constraint Luxembourg is the best option for our short holiday. Still I can colour the map... Hopefully the weather is good for sightseeing.InsyaAllah..

Uttrecht, Holland

The Hague, Holland

The Hague is one of the big city in Holland. I love this city in terms of shopping..but to live in this place, definitely not! Hectic maa..

Delft Holland

We went to The Hague for the open house at our friends. We ended up sightseeing in Delft before heading off to The Hague. Delft is a nice, balmy and scenic place to visit. I love this place very much..So, if you like nice and quite place instead of the big city, Delft is the best choice for you!
