False Alarm but good intent...

We arrived at home from London at 11.30p.m last night.Apparently, I felt sooooo tired so I asked Am to switch on the electric heater in our room to heat up the room before I took a bath, since I was busy to prepare our late dinner. Then, I off to the bathroom....

Oh My God, what happened with our room? I could see our room was smoky. Something was burning BUT without fire...Gosh!!..Am forgot to put off my towel from the heater. Actually, I used the heater as my washing line for my towel so that it can dry easily...so my mistake then. He such so careless and I such so stupid put ourselves in danger. So I opened the room's door and suddenly our fire alarm was ringing loudly in the middle of the late night. It has been ringing for almost 10minutes.I guess!!Am went to the downstairs to stop the alarm but he couldn't! It was because the alarm showed the area was still smoky. Normally, fire brigade will come over to the location if you fail to shut off the fire alarm.

Suddenly, one of our neighbors came and helped us to switch off the alarm and it went well. Nevertheless, he told us that he had called the fire brigade earlier as a precaution. Ok, whatever. Besides, maybe he thought it was better safe than sorry even it was unnecessarily. Shortly, the fire brigade came with the fire engine and 12 firemen, where as the condition was not as serious as they might thought.Oh My God I felt really guilty to put them all in this situation because of our stupid mistakes. They straightly checked the room. One of them interrogated Am to investigate what was actually happened. After they satisfied with the condition and interrogation they told us to switch the heater with the new one.

We really asked the humble apology from the firemen and our neighbors. Promised! I will nevermore put my towel on the heater in the future. Never!! What we learnt from this matter was, we have to be more careful. Carelessness can put you in risk!!!!!
Thanks to our neighbors and firemen..

At last...

We off to London yesterday as a day trip only. We departed from Manchester at 6.30a.m and arrived there at 11.00 am at London Victoria Station. From the station we used the London Tube to Tottenham Court station whereby the Embassy is located. We had our lunch with sandwiches that I brought from home, took pictures and then, impatiently I told Am that "I think it is so much better if we just wait in the Embassy building since the weather is freezing”. By that time my watch showed 12.30 p.m and they opened for submission only at 1.00p.m to 2.00 p.m.

Fortunately, for us because they straightly gave us the waiting number and in a few minutes we had been calling to submit the passports. They will post to us the passports back in 2 working days.Alhamdulillah.Then we off to Madame Tussauds nearby Baker Street Station to complete our London journey visited. We had pre-booked the tickets online so it was cheaper and quicker than bought it at the location. We spent almost 3 hours in there. Lots of pushing and shoving from eager tourists as we wind our way around the halls displaying wax models of world famous people - everyone trying to get their photo taken with the stars! So, a useful tip - gets pre-booked tickets - or prepares to queue for a LONG while!!

From Madame Tussauds we off to Trafalgar Square and get our photos taken. Then off to Buckingham Palace. I felt not excited though since we have been all those places a few times before excluded the Tussauds.

We went back to Manchester by bus at 6.30 p.m and arrived in Manchester at 10.30 p.m. I felt so tired but at least we managed to have our important things to be done...

At last the ball is in our court......

It has been quite some time since we applied for the visas. We have been waiting and asking in ourselves what is next? Are we gonna get the visa?Have our documents are complete enough for the Embassy to grant us the visa? All the while , not knowing either our decision is right or wrong and keep our fingers cross make me feel sick of that. It is not about the visa itself. It is about Am's future. He has gamble his studies with this moving matter. He has been caught in the middle to make this decision.

Actually, there is so much to tell and to risk but just put all those behind.. The moment of truth was happened yesterday whereby, we received a phone called from the Embassy. It was a good news, basically our visas have been approved. It just the matter of time for us to submit our passports to the Embassy though. So, next monday we will off to London again to submit the passports.I can't believe that we have succeed up to this stage after overcoming so many obstacles during the process. Moreover, this is quite an enormouse decision for us to move into the new country, but what may come we will face it together..insyaAllah.

That is one thing that i'm thankful enough though, about this moving thing..which is just in the nick of time we get our visas after we officially rent a house in Liege.Alhamdulillah everything is settle then.At last the ball is in our court...

Landlord

We call our Landlord as Mr.Br or Mr.Birchlane.This nickname has been given by us since we rent one of his house located at the street called Birchlane in Longsight. Talks about Mr.Br, actually he is a nice guy but sometimes I can't stand him in some matters ,as example, right on cue he came to collect the rent since yesterday was a collection day ( opss...he refused earlier in agreement to receive monthly payment via bank transfer, should be because he wanted to avoid from paid a huge amount of tax to Inland Revenue..i should report him..just kidding).

I asked Mr.Br either we still need to pay the last rent since we are moving out not later than mid March..the earlier the better..or just deducted from our deposit..Guess what??he insisted us to pay the rent.Huh!!Does he ever think that in this case,at the end he has to return the deposit + 1/2 month rent instead of the deposit only?reluctantly, we paid the rent since he seemed out of sorts..whatever but for me he such a jerk this time!

When there is weakness, there must be kindliness (or the other way round). The best thing about him is everytime he accepts the new tenant, He won't mind to do the refurbishment by himself to ensure the house condition in good nick and state and up to the mark. Furthermore, in this country fully furnish houses are seem to be part of the condition that all tenant are looking for when they consider to rent a house or flat. In truth, when the first time i stepped my feet in this house last one and half years, everything was newly looked and equipped in term of furniture, and all the walls and ceilings were newly painted. Everything was nice indeed.

To Mr. Br...I hope you'll be more practical with ur new tenant..ops...do not forget to buy a new fridge before put the house on the advertisement...ciao!!

p/s :- for my rememberance when i look back in the future, we paid the rent (GBP 360/month),excluded all bills.Rent since October 2006 to March 2008.
